Community Based Supports Department

Our Community Based Supports (CBS) department provides direct supports services to participants with the goal of achieving and/or maintaining increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning, and inclusion in the community. Delivered one-on-one, these services may include, but are not limited to, assistance with community-based activities; assistance to, as well as training and supervision of, participants as they learn and perform the various tasks that are included in fundamental self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living.

Activities can range from providing support to participants to enable them to take a class and/or attend an event, going to the mall and purchasing items, eating at a new restaurant, attending doctor’s appointments, laundry skills, learning basic cooking, and much more. Our CBS supervisors and staff work closely with each participant and their families to provide the best possible support based on individualized needs, while also providing a clear path toward increased community integration and independence.

Services can be delivered with or without the caregiver present, in or out of the participant’s home, in order to achieve the outcomes outlines in each participant’s individualized service plan. Services are funded through each participant’s NJISP under the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), or through contracted services. Self-pay options are also available. For more information on billing/payment options, please contact your Support Coordinator or email us.  To submit a referral, please complete the CBS referral form

With the guidance and training from Anchor Behavior Solutions, I have been able to provide the much-needed services to Shaan.  Shaan had severe autism but has been progressing very well with the home services he so desperately needed.  He spends his mornings at home, afternoons in the office (where he mingles with staff and does try to help in simple tasks).  Without Anchor Behavior Services, Shaan would not be progressing as he is now. Severe Autism is not a widely used term.  It should be so the community understands the different spectrums of Autism, but the in-house services are helping Shaan overcome many of his challenges, Thanks to Anchor.
