Community Support Professional
Description
The primary purpose of the Community Support Professional (CSP) position is to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in their community/residence. Support of these individuals will include a variety of tasks and activities. Services to these individuals may occur in their own homes or in their natural family homes. The CSP is required to provide care in accordance with the standards of the Division of Developmental Disabilities established by the NJ State Department of Human Services in conjunction with internal Anchor Behavioral Solutions (ABS), LLC guidelines manuals.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide quality care to and ensure health and safety of clients in their home and community. To provide.
- Develop, implement, and supervise community integration and acceptance while promoting independence.
- Follow Individual Plans of client to meet their objectives.
- Motivate and introduce clients to new activities in conjunction with treatment goals.
- Assist in the development of the weekly activity schedules and community-based activities, based on individual preferences and needs.
- Creative and consistent use of daily routines to meet individual client needs, including upkeep of sleeping areas and housekeeping tasks when applicable.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner, focusing on complete and accurate information.
Education Requirements:
One-year direct care experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, OR Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field including special education, psychology, social work, or applied
behavior analysis.
Training & Other Requirements:
- Complete/maintain CPR, Handle with Care (HWC), First Aid, DDD Pre-service and Boggs Center Training, and attend workshops to further professional growth, and other trainings as required by ABS within the required time frame
- Willing and able to learn all areas of support, service and functions.
- Pass a criminal history review and background check with clean driving record
- Must pass a drug test in accordance with The Stephen Komninos’ Law
- Must have a reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance
- Familiarity with and access to smart phone technology
- Valid Driver’s License
